Prepare to be captivated as the Burnaby Arts Council presents an exhibition highlighting the extraordinary photographs that represented Canada at the 2025 World Photographic Cup. This year six of Canada’s photographs were Top 10 in the world with one Sports image, by Vancouver photographer Nick Didlick, winning a Gold Medal. Nick’s Sports image, taken at the Paris Olympics, features the new sport of Kayak Cross and the unique photo opportunities of the splash down. “Canada is such a large and diverse country, and to be chosen as a representative from all our talented photographers is a distinct honour,” said Nick. Be there when Nick receives his Gold Medal at the Opening Reception on August 8th. This legacy of Canadian photographic excellence also includes local Burnaby photographer Manpreet Sohki’s Landscape image. Taken in the high altitude desert of Ladakh, India during one of his many trips to his homeland it features camels backlit by the sun. Experience the outstanding photographs submitted by Team Canada alongside the remarkable works from past Canadian World Medalists.The World Photographic Cup – a prestigious global competition often referred to as the”Olympics of photography,” serves as the ultimate arena for photographers to compete as a team and showcase their talent on an international stage.
