Over the past year, BAC has been led by a volunteer board without an Executive Director, due to funding limits. With support from the City of Burnaby, BAC is undertaking an organizational renewal and developing a sustainable operating model, guided by a strategic plan to shape its work over the next 3 years.
As part of this renewal, BAC is looking to engage beyond its membership, gathering broader community perspectives to ensure its priorities, governance structures, programs, and services meet the needs of Burnaby’s creative community.
1. Burnaby Arts Council Renewal & Vision As the role of Arts Councils in BC shifts, Burnaby Arts Council is undergoing an organizational renewal to create a sustainable operating model to guide the next three years, ensuring it can better serve Burnaby’s creative community.
2. Help Shape Burnaby Arts Council’s Future As part of this renewal, we are engaging members, artists, cultural organizations, and the broader community to understand your perspectives, needs, and ideas. Your input will directly shape BAC’s priorities, programs, and direction.
3. Get Involved Participate in consultations, surveys, and community discussions. Share your thoughts, connect with us and help strengthen arts and culture in Burnaby. Please have your say here!
4. Programming / DLG operations during this renewal During renewal, BAC is continuing minimal, low cost programs like Live at the Gallery once a month and the Deer Lake Winter Festival to stay connected to the community.
The BAC often collaborates with member organizations to host and amplify collaborative events and activations, and offers its members creative space usage, subject to availability.
