Volunteer

  • BECOME A VOLUNTEER!

    Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us! Please complete this form and we will be in touch with you soon.
  • There are various volunteer opportunities at the BAC. If you are a high school student interested in volunteering you must be over 15 and check the appropriate box below. The BAC paticipates in the Burnaby High School Career Program.
  • Please indicate your general interest in the below positions. Further detail about the tasks and responsibilities can be found in the links above this form.
  • Please indicate below if you have an up to date Serving It Right certification. This is not mandatory but is helpful to know when scheduling volunteers for special events.
  • Please indicate your general availability below. It does not have to be exact and you will be able to change this later if you become a volunteer. All regular shifts at the Gallery are from 12pm - 4pm except Thursday which has a 12pm-3pm shift and a 3pm-6pm shift. The gallery is closed on Mondays. Special events, such as Live at the Gallery, usually occur on Saturday evenings.
  • Please only fill out this section if you are over 18. We are not able to have individuals under 18 act as gallery attendants on the weekends. If you are over 18 and have weekend availability please indicate that below.
  • Please indicate below the frequency at which you want to volunteer.
  • Please indicate below if you will be tracking your volunteer hours to fulfill a school or other requirement.
  • Please provide a short answer regarding why you want to volunteer with the arts at the Burnaby Arts Council.

Come volunteer at the Deer Lake Gallery! Volunteers have the opportunity to learn about the role of a nonprofit art gallery, and contribute their knowledge and valuable services to support events and exhibitions at the gallery. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Candidates should possess an interest in the arts, and feel confident engaging and working with the public. To become a volunteer, please fill out the form on this page and staff will be in contact upon review of your application.
