Workshop – Cyanotype Printmaking

September 9, 10:00 am – Workshop

Create cyanotype prints with multidisciplinary artist Karl Hipol in conjunction with the show ‘Walking to Know the Land.’

Multidisciplinary artist Karl Hipol will lead this workshop. Printmaking with cyanotype (also known as blueprint or sun prints) is an exciting alternative photographic process. Cyanotype is a non-toxic process and uses a light-sensitive solution.

This adventure will start at the Deer Lake Gallery, where participants will be given a quick presentation about Hipol’s Cyanotype prints from the exhibition. Afterward, participants will embark on an art walk along Deer Lake, where everyone will compose and create images using found materials while using the sun as the light source. At the end, participants will return to the gallery to rinse and dry the completed photograms. For this activity, pre-treated cyanotype paper will be provided by the artist.

This event is free to attend/by donation.
