In-Person Reading – Christina Myers & Laura Farina ‘Spoken INK’

April 21st, 12pm – Join the Deer Lake Gallery in conjunction with the Burnaby Writers’ Society and many more for Spoken INK, a monthly reading series which features published authors reading their work, followed by an open mic for the audience to participate.

Christina Myers is a writer, editor and former journalist. Her novel The List of Last Chances (2021) was longlisted for the Leacock Medal for Literary Humour and won the 2023 Canadian Book Club Award for Fiction. Her next book, Halfway Home: Thoughts from Midlife, a collection of essays, is out in May with House of Anansi. She has been the Ambassador for the Federation of BC Writers during the last year.  

Laura Farina is the author of two books of poetry, Some Talk of Being Human and This Woman Alphabetical, and the picture book This is the Path the Wolf Took. She is the recipient of the Archibald Lampman Award, and has appeared on the longlists for both the ReLit Award and the CBC Poetry Prize. She coordinates The Writer’s Studio at Simon Fraser University.
