Are you looking for an opportunity to attend some free arts events in Burnaby? The Burnaby Arts Council is looking for Special Events Attendants. You would be helping with the operations of our special events and have the opportunity to experience the colorful arts scene in the community! We host a variety of events outside of our regular exhibitions such as:
- Live at the Gallery, a monthly music series at our Deer Lake Gallery
- Artist Talks & Workshops
- Opening Reception for exhibitions
- Park’s Edge Paint Off
- Summer Arts Festival
- Deer Lake Craft Festival
Responsibilities & Tasks
- Set-up and clean up for events
- Preparing and serving refreshments
- Handling transactions for sale of refreshments, t-shirts and other gallery souvenirs
- Engaging guests and educating them about the event, Deer Lake Gallery, and Burnaby Arts Council
- Assisting the performers, artists, or instructors as needed
Time Commitment
- Approximately 4 hour per month but varies depending on the event
Desired Skills
- Enthusiasm for arts events in Burnaby
- Comfortable interacting with the public, good interpersonal skills
- Serving it Right (Live at the Gallery)
- Organized with good attention to detail
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
