ReVision: the art of recycling is an upcoming exhibition hosted and organized by the Burnaby Arts Council that will be presented at the Deer Lake Gallery. ReVision: the art of recycling is by a group of artists from British Columbia. The exhibition will open Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 12 to 4 pm and will run until Saturday, October 26, 2019.
Every minute, one garbage truck of plastic enters the world’s oceans. That is more than eight million tons in one year. As plastic takes centuries to break down, there is an urgent need to address the environmental disaster now poisoning our oceans.
We need to promote recycling as a step in the direction of controlling all wastes at the source – a critical spiritual and cultural transformation in society.
To raise awareness and help educate the public, we are launching ReVision: the art of recycling – a non-profit society of artists dedicated to saving our environment who are partnering with the Burnaby Arts Council to present this exploratory exhibition about recycling and art. ReVision artists create amazing artwork from up-cycling waste materials and discarded objects.
Featuring: Bill Thompson, Graham Schodda, Jan de Beer, Lori Goldberg, David Dumbrell, Marcia Pitch, Ron Holzman, Valerie Artnzen, and Ron Simmer
There will also be several workshops, artist talks and interactive events during the exhibition period including a Bad Art Sale and Trash Fashion Show. Make a difference and be the change! Join us in our adventure.
